Welcome!
A note: after realizing that search engines (don't be evil, Google!) actively violate copyright by using their web crawlers to scarf up and make images available for download, I have had to put unsightly copyright notices on the pictures. So sorry.

I love photography because it helps us to see this world, and it stops time. There is not much that is more moving than an old picture of someone no longer with us.
I am haunted by these old pictures of people and of places and things. All is still as it was then, at that exact moment. Mujo: the bittersweet impermanence of things.
Please see my essay here: One Might Ask: On Photography. Step aside, Susan Sontag!
On each page, scroll through by clicking on the arrows to the sides of the photographs, or click on the thumbnails. Note that you can't always see all the thumbnails at once -- keep scrolling for more!
Click on the handsome rooster here -- he'll appreciate it!
As I noted in my About page, other than in projects with a specific purpose, like the NY "Ektachrome" series and occasional individual images, I do as little digital alteration as I can other than a tiny bit of colour correction and black and white conversion. I don't move things around, nor enhance skylines, make fish or dogs smile and all the rest. Nor do I alter or retouch portraits. The human face is what it is. Apparently I will never get rich running a portrait or wedding photography studio! :)
I can appreciate all the creative work people do, but I prefer "real" photography in both my own work and others. I am trying avoid dishonesty in my work.
Hope you like what you see: peace and thanks.
